Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for performing a broad scope of duties, such as maintaining the general ledger, recording journal entries, evaluating financial statement fluctuations, implementing and documenting accounting processes and internal controls, supporting the month end close process, financial statement audits, and preparation of financial statements.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
– Timely and accurate maintenance of the GL and sub ledgers, including preparation and booking of journal entries in the ERP system
– Assist in month end/quarter end closing process, including the preparation of corporate calculations and estimates, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement analysis
– Coordinate with external auditors to ensure completion of applicable audit requests
– Support and oversee the Accounts Payable process and vendor maintenance by working with various departments and third-party vendors
– Understand transactions executed by the business, in order to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
– Assist with technical accounting analysis, implementation and monitoring of internal controls, adoption of accounting standard updates, and other ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests
– Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects

Job Requirements
– Bachelor or master’s degree in accounting or relevant field
– 3+ years of relevant accounting, audit, or finance experience
– Experience with financial statements prepared in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
– Solid IT skills, particularly MS Excel and experience working with ERP systems
– Results-driven, team player, ability to learn quickly, and have flexibility to work in a changing environment
– Ability to work independently, multi-task, and establish priorities
– Analytical skills with the ability to sort through complex issues and communicate them with various stakeholders, including those outside Accounting

– Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
– Experience with Sage Intacct
– Knowledge of accounting for inventory
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time in-office position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
