Inventory Control Manager

Summary/Objective
In this role, you will be responsible for executing inventory strategies and initiatives in the United States. You will serve as a liaison between field-based employees, customers, and internal teams to ensure efficient inventory management. This position requires analytical skills, organization, and adaptability.  This role will also be responsible for overseeing the Company’s Inventory Management System (WebOps) and physical asset tracking system, including managing master data, tracking inventory, recording adjustments, and reconciling to the Company’s ERP system.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures for the Inventory Control department that enhance efficiency and inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with the control of inventory covered by consignment agreements and inventory policies to ensure compliance.
  • Work with field representatives to resolve discrepancies of returned inventory and kits.
  • Manage process of controlling expired, lost, or damaged products, including proper disposition of products.
  • Execute in-field inventory confirmation procedures and work with sales representatives, distributors, and customers to recover inventory.
  • Oversee the Company’s asset tracking software to improve kit traceability in the field.
  • Ensure integrity of inventory balances by monitoring transfers and adjustments and reconciliation of inventory related transactions with the Company’s ERP system.
  • Enhance, track, and report on inventory metrics, such as inventory turns, late returns, and stagnant inventory; review and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify the root cause of inventory discrepancy trends and communicate the cause and suggested resolution to management.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as Product Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Distribution, Sales, and Finance, to support inventory strategies, product launches, and demand planning.
  • Oversee the Company’s Inventory Management System (Web Ops), including management of master data, review and resolution of interface issues, and training of internal employees.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, distributors, vendors and sales representatives
  • Follow all requirements of the Quality System, including but not limited to requirements for traceability of product and tracking of Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with inventory management in the supply chain or distribution environment.
  • Medical Device or other regulated environment experience.
  • High aptitude for problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including charts, pivot tables, etc..
  • Willingness to travel, as needed.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Analytical skills to uncover root causes and implement long term solutions.
  • Able to work within a team environment not only within the organization unit, but also across departments and functional areas.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of project management and experience improving and documenting processes.
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency with ERP systems.
  • Self-motivated and able to work remotely with minimal supervision.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with individuals internally and external to the organization and read manuals and documents. The employee frequently is required to move about the warehouse as well as the entire facility. The employee may be required to lift up to 25 lbs. by themselves.

Travel

Up to 30% travel is expected for this position.
